Keyless Memory Settings Problem

well hello there ! first of all i would like to let you know guys that im very excited with my new car, an acura tl 2005, its my first car btw, i just love it !
saying that, i have a problem with the keyless memory settings i get the error "CUSTOMIZING NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL LINKED TO REMOTE"
it its important to mention that i bought the car in an auction, it had a small crash on the left door, no big deal the door closes perfectly, but the car was just delivered with the key fob #2 (i dont know if that has something to do with this error?)
I already did the lock-unlock thing, so the redlight could flash just once(wich its supposed to be when its "linked" isnt?) and still when i put the key on ignition II and select the keyless memory settings I still get the same error...
i already linked and unliked the keyfob several times, but I get no results...
please help me, could be the battery?, should i take it to the dealer?, what am i doing wrong?
thanks in advance!

See page 94 of the 2005 owner's manual (in the 3G TL Service Dept/Garage thread) on fob linking-- the remote should blink twice once linked: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/j-020-3g-acura-tl-owners-manual-navi-manual-warranty-booklet-pdfs-851625/.

Once your remote fob is linked, set up the driver presets as Driver 2 (#2 memory button on the door)-- that includes outside mirror positions, climate control preferences and radio/audio system presets.

Welcome to AZ.

thanks for the welcome !
its interesting because i did the unlock-lock thing untill i got the 2 blinks and surprisingly when I opened the door, it said "driver 2 detected", i set up the keyless memory settings to my personal preferences, i left the car, i locked it up, and once i got back and unlocked it, there was no message on the screen...
i went back again to the keyless memory settings and i got the same error "CUSTOMIZING NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL LINKED TO REMOTE" wich its crazy bcuz i just linked the remote...
i just cant understand, could be the fob?

It sounds more like a bad car(not fob) battery-- test it for low output.

Do you have any problems with your power mirrors....full up/down left/right and reverse tilt because if one isn't working then I would start with replacing the mirror actuator for the faulty mirror because the mirrors are part of the memory settings and will not store any settings if a component in the system is faulty

I'm having the same problem. That message pops up when trying to view the memory settings. My memory 1 key fob will unlock and lock the door, but it doesn't recognize the memory setting. Also, when I am driving, the doors do not automatically lock anymore. The lock and unlock function works on the key fob and the car. You all think it's an actuator problem?

I am having the same problem, it doesn't look like there has been any response yet. My TL is an '08 Type S and for some reason this link has been lost. I have also gone through the reprogramming thread (4 times on/off etc.) successfully but still no link. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I found the answer through heeltoeauto.com where I bought my switchblade key. But for the life of me I cannot remember. But I contacted them again and once they give me the answer, I will post it. I want to say it something easy like hold the lock and unlock button at the same time. But let me find out for sure.

I got verification that pushing the lock and unlock button toggles the memory seat on and off. Hold them both at the same time. for a few seconds.

Hope that helps.
