Keep having to fill power steering fluid
Keep having to fill power steering fluid
I have an 04 TL. I started noticing a winding noise when I make turns. I checked the power steering fluid and it was very low, so I filled it up with honda/acura power steering fluid and the noise went away immediately. But now it comes back every few months and I keep having to refill the ps fluid. I never touched the fluid for 5 years and now I keep having to fill it every few months. What could be the issue?
Thanks

You have a leak, you need to find out where it is leaking and repair it. Have you looked at anything under the hood besides the PS fluid reservoir? Take a look at all the lines, the pump (especially the plastic return fitting off the pump-there is an o-ring in there that likes to flatten out and leak fluid.

OP,
There was another TSB before the recall to replace an O-ring. The recall also includes replacing this same O-ring. If it turns out that the recall was done, there is a chance that they did not replace the O-ring as required by the TSB. Several members had the recall performed and the dealer failed to replace the O-ring.

I had the same issue. It whined under 50F and noticed a small amount coming out. Replaced the O-Ring (new one is Orange) and it completely fixed the problem. Try that- Cost like $.50. Quick fix- 5 minutes. Part number is 91345-RDA-A01
