Lmao, that's funny.

I know many who always forget to remove the ratchet from the crank before start up. This of course leads to a ratcheting mini twister effect before becoming a projectile.

ratchet unstuck.

instead of cutting it, i took a vice grip to the socket and tightened the bolt.
which then made the ratchet loose enough to where i could take it off.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving Motherfuckers!

lol I did this exact same thing

I was able to get under it and with a feeler gauge (i used to valve adjustment) was able to switch the ratchet to the other direction and hand turn the socket back

damn noob mistakes.
whats funny is, I had a 14mm wrench in hand, too.

I could have easily stopped and switched to the wrench.

a moment of "here, hold my beer" became my demise.

I have a feeling switching to your 1/4" ratchet would clear it...I can't remember but I think I unthreaded and rethreaded by hand until the ratchet would fit.

right, i had a huge huge huge ratchet.
and I used the ratchet to break the bolt loose.

should have stopped and switched to the wrench or continued by hand.


now, im onto a whole new different problem.
and it sucks because i cant find the oil leak.

replace all the things!!!!

I wish I could help you out, man...
So you literally are low on oil in the case when you check after a few days and have to add a few quarts back in?!?!

Are you burning oil? No white smoke out the back? (not the cheeb smoke).

Wow, I just went through every page of this thread and I must say man...mad props for getting it done. You made a lot of rookie mistakes that led me to believe I should not work on cars but you are one mad man with skills. I hope you get all your issues sorted out and may I join the broken record company and use the word dyno?

I would be interested in seeing how the motor is running. I hope the motor is not running lean since that is a lot of work you put in. Just from watching the pics and reading, I already want to take a break from working on my cars lol

No kidding. And to think of it, I had friends that got mad if you were not nice to their cars and here we have an example of a blown up car and he ain't even mad.

I remember my S2000 was running extra lean when I put a TP as soon as the vtec crossover happens so any change in air/fuel can result in more or less horsepower but it's very important to tune the car for the changes made.

I may have missed it but if TL is your garage queen, then what is your daily?

Still... . You can see the scratches from your ratchet on your frame rail.

I did read the entire thread, so I know things like the original dyno sheet are in there.


Getting read to do this same thing on a J30A4, with the 3.7 intake manifold and ZDX TB

I have been told to use the J37 head gaskets.

As far as I read, you are still on your stock ECU correct? (that is what we are planning to do for now)

Anyone happen to know if the precat deletes are different? RV6 shows two different offerings between the 3.2 and 3.7, but OP used his 3.2s to the 3.7 with no issues? (Other than the cracked welds). Trying to figure out if the J30A4 OEM precats will bolt up, and if not if I get the RV6 precat deletes, do those bolt up to the OEM J pipe.

I did look. I was told the J37 head would not work with the J30 precats, but RV6 precats compatibility list includes 7th Gen accord and 03+ MDX

the 07-09 MDX heads can reuse your 7g Accord precats. as far as the the other questions about head gaskets and timing belt im not sure, but would guess the headgasket was 07-09 MDX.

Id be interested in these answers as well, will need the info for my j36 build.
