Interior Trunk Release Button Failed

My trunk release button failed recently. The key fob button still works. I assume it's not hard to replace the button if that is indeed the problem. Has anyone encountered this problem? Trouble shooting tips? Best way to resolve?

Thanks

Pull that plastic piece off and make sure there is a good connection between the button and the wiring harness. If there is a good connection, you'll need to buy a new one from the dealer. Simple replacement.

The part # is 35800-SEP-A01
Found it for $7.93 on an Acura parts site.

Before you buy a new release button, have you checked to make sure the trunk release button kill switch in the glove box wasn't inadvertently activated?
I'd check to see that the slider switch wasn't accidentally moved before replacing the release button.

The kill switch is used to prevent access to the trunk by a valet with the valet key, which does not open the glove box or pass-through locks.

Well I feel a like a bit of a dumb a$$, it was the kill switch. Knew about it, did think about it. Thanks
