Interior squeak by shifter

I posted about this previously... but the fix that I tried, I had no luck with. Basically, I am having a lot of squeaks and creaks from this general area.

I tried removing this piece and putting some foam-type material underneath. The noise has reduced, but it still there and still just as loud and obnoxious. When i remove this piece the noise will go away (somewhat) but it still faintly there.

It is extremely annoying...

Any help?

there are links integrated into the text (I had figured that it would change color) *'this general area' 'this piece'*

Others have put a single layer of Teflon tape around the console edges covered by the bezel plate to stop the squeaking, IIRC-- check the 3G TL Service Dept/Garage thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-service-department-aka-garage-questions-answers-check-here-first-553557/) stickied on the main page of this 3G TL forum for the various interior rattle threads.

I'm sorry... could you be more descriptive "console edges?" like if I were to remove the plate, the edges there down in to my shifter workings? I rarely do any tweaking to cars so I have no clue. I am reading through the threads that you sent me though in the "garage"

Right-- the edges of the console cutout for the shifter-- basically the area right under the bezel plate.
I think the Teflon tape may permit the plate to move slightly without as much friction from the console, thereby lessening any noise.
