Interior Lighting issue

When I hit the cancel button on the steering wheel, the cruise lights all go out. Also is the actual cruise button supposed to be lit up? Another thing that happened at the same time is the driverside heater switch is hit sensitive like the steering wheel and the passenger side won't light up at all. BUT all the buttons work, when I press either heater button either way the little orange dots still light up.

Warranty question: I am thinking of taking this to the dealer and have them fix it. I have a in-dash dvd, viper alarm, K40 built-in radar, and a dice ipod adaptor installed. Will they try and say one of those items is causing it? And if they do, will it completely void my electrical warranty?

It's a common problem on the 3g for the backlight in the switches to burn out. You can take it to the dealer and they should replace them. There are several threads on the forum about how to remove and replace pretty much every bulb in the TL. Search is your friend on this one.

Ok, that helps on the pass. heater button backlight. But what about the ones that cut one and off with bumps.

I got ya, will they be able to say that "This here dvd player and built-in radar detector is hardwired into the wiring and is caused this problem. Void of warranty!"??

No they wont.

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/.../warranty.shtm

In order to say "This after market part....." caused the failure of _______ they have to prove it.

I just remembered that I have a $100 deductable. I dont know if the problem is worth $100. Can I combine the problems into one deductable? Like replace the HFL and fix the lights for $100?

typically they each have their own but if it is a warranty issue they will waive the fee.
