Installing Headlights

So the driver side headlight burned out the other day so I took it to the dealership and they said it would be $250!! i was like what the *$&@?!?!?!?! NO THANKS...i'll find another means of fixing it. So i went to advanced auto parts and bought the bulb (D5S) that ran me $125, but when i went to try and put it in...it was more complicated than i thot. I had to take out the battery (not as big of a deal as i expected) so i could reach where the headlight area was. but when i pull out what looked like the headlight...it wasn't the same as the bulb that i had...? i was lost...

anybody know how to change a simple headlight without going to a dealership so i get finacially raped in the ass??

the front headlight is D2S I believe. Also HID's should be replaced in pairs. As well, it could be a bad ballast for the bulb too. Did you get the right K of the bulb, 4300K? Also you got the bulb for the foglight, you have to take out the fenderwell trim or take off the headlight to get access to the projector assembly.
