Wow. 14 MPG? I'm assuming city driving but are you constantly flooring it and hitting VTEC? That's really low...

Sometime little changes can affect MPG. Make sure your tires are up to the proper PSI. Have you had your oil changed lately? Also, air filter still pretty clean? Just a couple things to consider...

how many miles? Also Premium or regular or mid grade gas??? 91 or higer is required for good gas milage. Also lay off the lead foot.
if above 25k do the following:
CHANGE ENGINE AIR FILTER
CHANGE CABIN AIR FILTER
CHECK FLUIDS FOR PROPER LEVELS
SEAFOAM CLEANING OF MOTOR

every week if you have an 04 and 05 TL, manually check the PSI in each tire. They should be at 35 cold for all four. 06+ has TPMS so you can check from inside the car.

I get about 22-24 MPG in city going 45 MPH and 32-36 on Highway going 75-80 MPH.
I have 29k on my TL and did the about at 27K along with oil change.

shouldnt be too big a issue with it being under 50k miles and all but get a fuel system cleaner. relatively inexpensive(i say relatively, im 18) anywhere from 2.50 to 10 dollars.

if nothing works, remember, you ARE 16. lead feet and raging hormones are pretty much the standard with us teens ;P

good mpg's are for the light footed.

I noticed with our TL creepin' into the teens (mileage) it certainly depends on your driving style. We always zero out our OBC (onboard computer) upon refilling and when you strive to cut a few minutes off you travel time, your mpg's suffer. By experimenting with elderly driving to teenage angst I have seen my MPG gauge dip to 9 mpg to a lovely 36 on a conservative cruise on the highway. If your a Larry Leadfoot then expect to see nothing above 20 mpg on avg. We strive to make the best with our fuel, however at times it is still necessary to burst the bubble by passing that careless 18 wheeler. We get 26 mpg with 40% city 60% highway (not freeway, Hawaii). In your case the low mpg's are theoretically a by product of loving your TL with a Phat Phoot, and to a very very minimal effect larger rims.

I can disprove this, when I drive the TL with a lead foot, I can manage about 16 MPG. But when i lend the TL to my mom, she gets about 12 MPG!

It's probably more related to driving it short distances.
Check the mpg for a 100 mile or so all freeway round trip using the cruise control at the speed limit. If it's around 30, the car is fine, and there won't be much you can do to the car to get the mileage better.
You'll have to adjust your driving style, live with it, or buy a Prius.

Does she use the digital throttle technique (on, off, repeat)? My wife consistently get worse mpg than I do, and that is the technique she uses.

suppose SL is 50 MPH. First she will grandma speed up to 60 then let the car dive down to 40, then slam the gas back up to 60. Then when a car turns into the lane besides her or she feels that there isn't a 10 car space in front of her, she slams the brakes, and when I mean slam, she has had ABS engage more times than me and my bro combined.
