Sorry, not sure, but that sure sounds strange...maybe something electrical?? You might want to try Problems & Fixes...

First check to make sure it is full of coolant in the radiator not the reserve. Make sure the car is cold before removing the cap. if it is full, start the car and turn on the a/c. Once the compressor kicks in look at the fans on the radiator and make sure they are BOTH running. If one is not running then that is your problem.

this is normal for the car the fan will run a couple min after the car is shut off
as the temperature rises to the thermostat the computer senses that its hot and turns on the fan to cool the coolant off. it happens to my car too so i asked a master tech at my work and he said that its normal

Well it may or may not be normal. I had a 2nd Gen TLS up until last weekend. radiator got busted and car over heated. After replacing the radiator, about 2 weeks later the fan started staying on after i parked and switched it off. This had never happened in the previous 4 years that I owned the car. Long story short, small leak in the head gasket. Cost to repair $2300, which is also the reason I no longer own the TL.

the relay for the fan might be stuck or might be sticking. Take it to acura for them to diagnose if under warranty.

I have had my TL since 2004 and I have put 76000 miles on it and my fan has never stayed on after I shut the car off.

Yes this isn't normal behavior. I have a '95 Prelude. The only time the fan continues to run after I shut down the engine, is when I am low on coolant. The cause of that could be many, but I'd check that first. My 2004 TL has never had the fan remain on after I shut off the car. Now if you live in Arizona, maybe? But in Southern California I've never experienced this.
