You may want to check your tire for any bulges or any other damage. Did you hear it hit your under carriage? Is so, look around under there as well. I ran over a 5 gallon bucket on the interstate once. Put a nice litte dent in my bumper.

How does that stuff get on the highway?

OP, I'd count my lucky stars if you got away without a damaged rim/tire. That being said, keep a close eye on your tire pressure. Alignment might've been smacked out as well. Maybe run your hand under the bottom of your rocker panels or get it on a lift to see if you got any scratches or damage on the undercarriage.

Look for bulges in the sidewalls of the tire, both sides. Also, take it up to about 80mph and see if there are any vibrations, you could have bent the rim or damaged some steering and suspension components.

Tires could've been knocked slightly off balance

Not really-- the vibration is a sign something is wrong.

Look for damage to the tire, bulging on the tire and make sure the wheel was not bent (you can have a shop do a dismount to check-- maybe rotate the tires while you're there).

Then get the tire/wheel rebalanced and get the car aligned-- assuming no bent suspension pieces.

G/L.

should your steering wheel vibrate a little bit at 80mph?

im talking about less than a cell phone vibration. a very little one. i go to about 80mph and it vibrates a tiny bit. wonder if this is normal

mine doesn't vibrate whatsoever at any speed.

might have something to do with the big rock you ran over on the highway.

Your tire is either just a bit out of balance (one of the wheel weights was knocked off) or your rim is bent. You need to take it to a shop to have the rim inspected (you can't always see a bend with the tire on the rim). If you can't afford to get it checked out until later, you can switch the tireout with one of the rear tires and the vibration should be must less noticable if not imperceptible.

No...it can be other factors as well, but since you ran over a brick, tires and rims are the first thing I'd check into.
