I messed up...Need Your help!
Today I was changing my map/rear dome/trunk/license plate lights to LED bulbs that I got from SuperBright LEDS.com. Everything went smooth until I got to the map lights. I changed one with no problems. Somehow I managed to break the bulb in the light on the passenger side. I broke pretty much flush with the socket. I tried masking and sotch tape to get it out and it just will not work. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try to remove what is left of the bulb myself before I have to take it to Acura? please shoot me some ideas!
Before you go digging around in there with tweezers or whatever, either pull the fuse (#6 in the driver footwell, IIRC) or disconnect the battery. If you should, by chance, short it it'll blow the fuse and you'll be off to AutoZone.
Don't ask me how I know.
And just to be clear, you're talking about the overhead light in the center front - the ones you push to click on and off - right?

If the pencil eraser doesn't do it try whittling a carrot into shape. Seriously, no joke here. It's an old DIY trick. All you have to do is get the bulb pushed in a bit and then turn it.
To clarify- yes, I am talking about the overhead light in the center front. It isn't a twist out type of bulb. It is the kind with a flat end that fits into a connector (socket). There is absoutley no room to put anything in the damaged part of the bulb. There is also no way, or at least that I can see, to get in behind the bulb and push it out. I really don't weant to take it to acura to have them take down the whole console to remove a friggin light bulb.
Bearcat94- you mentioned pulling fuse #6. what good will that do, if I can't figure out how to get what is left of the bulb out? will it keep me from blowing the fuse if I do use tweezers?

When I was changing out one of my bulbs, I was having a hard time getting it to come out. So I went after it with a metal tool. I got the bulb out and the new one in, but it wouldn't light. Turns out none of my interior lights worked. Found that my Interior Lights fuse had blown (I think it was #6, but am not positive).
My theory is when I went after the bulb with a metal tool, I shorted the socket and blew the fuse.
So, I am just suggesting that if you go after you broken bulb with a metal (or other conductive) tool, that you might want to remove the fuse first (to break the circuit) and thereby avoid blowing it.

I agree
Total lapse in logic there,
YES, do remove the affected fuse before using the tweezers, and If you don't know what fuse to remove, then disconnect the negative battery cable. ( Make sure you have your radio and nav codes handy. )
Thanks for pointing that out Bearcat..... my mind was on the NFL playoffs.
Good luck!
