I have some leaking

While I was replacing my spark plugs last night I noticed some "leaking" from the intake manifold end cap.

Fromt he looks of it, there is a gasket I can replace and I suppose that should stop the leak? Gasket is # 6.

And I dropped a bolt while doing the spark plugs. While I was searching for it I noticed possible leaking from here.

I just purchased the vehicle less than two weeks ago. I had it inspected at a shop and they didn't say anything about either leak. I called them and they said to bring it in. The mechanic who looked at it remembered a "film/sweating" on the aluminum parts which can happen when an engine is steam cleaned. I'm hoping this film is just that, and not an oil leak, especially if it's the front or rear main seal!

If I am following correctly, there is no oil up there. Fuel, maybe, but not oil.

What does it smell like? Is there enough to wipe it off with your finger?

Do you mean on the intake manifold? I'm pretty oil is recirculated into the intake manifold, hence why people put on catch cans.

Sure through PCV. If there is enough oil evap going through the PCV to make a stain, then quarts would probably be required between oil changes.

Well let me go check to see what it smells like.

Well, it doesn't smell like anything. The new gaskets will be in tomorrow, as well as a new PCV valve.
