I am stuck!!!!!! Purple hids

Ok fellas so i just recently installed my fog lights on the far and 25k hids, so when i grounded each light once and when i placed my wire to give it power to the lowbeam light fuse in the hood, it worked like a charm.... Sick lights, but this whole time i was playing with the fogs and i must have connected them over 10 times, on off on off car being off....

So i drove off on a spirited drive and battery symbol comes on dash!!!! O noooooo

so i took it to my buddy at advance auto tested battery... Good but low, tested alternator... Low voltage (bad!)

mind you i just got it back from acura because i had to replace my hfl unit still under warranty

now the question, did i screw something up or did acura when installing my hfl, and is the power to my lights good where i put my power to the lights to one of the low beam fuses in the hoods fuse box?

I am def taking it to acura to replace my alternator and hopefully battery monday since it is under warranty, time to drive my 2g again

thanks in advance for the help, will post pics in my progress thread after i drop it next weekend, sorry slammmmmm ittt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna go on a limb here, but although this is a universal car (electric) issue, maybe your post is betttttttter suited for the 2G forum.

I HATE people running these bulbs. The glare is horrible, it blinds other drivers, and throws very little light for the owner. Every single time I drive my car into work there's a full sized Chevy truck and a Civic with this junk. The truck is going the opposite way so he gets my brights each morning. The Civic passes like a mad man going the same direction and blinds me when he's behind me. I always return the favor once he's in front with my brights. I'm having a friend in the highway patrol put a stop to them soon.

*sigh* 25k HID's in a car that has excellent OEM HID's. Why make your car look like a smurf at night and significantly reduce your light output at the same time?
The brightest and highest quality bulbs are the ones that came stock in it (osram or philips) anything else is usually junk. If your looking for a little more show without losing any output I recommend doing a lens swap for a nice colorful cutoff line.

Post #9 buddy! you mentioned purple wheels!

As far as your orignal issue, the battery light comes on when it detects something wrong with the charging system so it's probably your alternator failing.

Also tapping into the fuse for the low beams isn't such a smart idea since the wiring was NOT designed for 4 HID kits.

Your best bet is just to tap the factory fog harness for a trigger and just take power right off the battery with an inline fuse.

OK first person that might be able to help me lol, would you happen to know where which wire is for the stock fog lights?

Thanks, I tried tapping them into the turn signal but heard it was not a good idea.

You should really find someone who knows electrical systems before you do major damage.

The suggestion of feeding off the battery (fused) with a low current trigger circuit is spot on correct. As he said, use the existing fog circuit. Not sure why you are mentioning the turn signal circuit. You want the fogs to blink when you make a turn?

the turn signals are little tiny bulbs that draw very little power, HID kits require upwards of 10,000 VOLTS to ignite! Stop tapping into random systems!

You can buy a harness from ddmtuning or other HID sellers to run power off the battery and use the stock fog light harness as a trigger to turn them on and off.
