HVAC problem- no heat from any drivers side vents

Ive been trying to find a schematic of the AC system parts or the routing of the air ducts but I cant find anything online. I also cant find anyone else on here with this problem- no matter what I set the temp to, it only blows out cold/ambient temp air from the drivers side vents- no hot air at all. This includes the drivers side defroster, dash vents, and floorboard vents. Even the middle vent where the hazard button is will blow hot out of the pass side but cold from the drivers side. It has to be a malfunction in the part that controls the dual zone temp, I just cant figure out which part that is. I know AC systems have multiple blend doors, does anyone know how many our car has, and where they are located? Ive only been able to find one in the parts list, and it doesnt look very complex. If I could just find out where the air is separated between the driver and passenger zones then I will know that the problem is with that part. So does anyone have a diagram of the HVAC system they can upload? That would help a lot, I already have the glove box out and I can see something that looks like it might be the blend door, I just want to know what Im removing before I get into it...

Nevermind Im retarded, I just saw that someone else has the same problem and they made a thread like a week ago. I searched the forum a couple weeks ago and it wasnt there, and I didnt bother looking today before I made this. Mods you can delete this thread, Im gonna check my heater control valve, I think I might have messed it up when putting the supercharger on

Somewhat related to HCV aka water / coolant control valve but if the cable is secured, the valve only diverts coolant to heater core so to have hot air on one side and not the driver side might indicate a faulty air mix controller on the driver's side. Check the DIY thread. I posted the diagnostic on it. Basically make sure the cable and valve are good, coolant is not low, run diagnostic check for codes (there's a separate diagnostic indicator for system, non-HDS) and if it throws the same code, do the check.

I checked the HCV, the cable is good and nothing is interfering with it. Its in the fully open position when I have the heat on full blast, so that isnt it. My coolant is full so thats not it... My AC system isnt charged right now, but I had this problem before it was empty so thats not it... Where is the air mix controller exactly?

My guess would be behind the dash. If that's the case than you might have to remove the dash which is a PITA.

It should be adjacent from nav unit, move chair back, remove the under dash trim below the steering column and you should be able to access it.

Yep, I got the alldata diagram and looks like its the drivers side air mix motor. Its located behind the drivers side dash trim and center console trim. Once I get it out ill put a pic up if that turns out to be the problem, thanks for the help

Thats what it was... If you take off the drivers side lower dash cover and the side panel there you can see two of the little black motors for the HVAC doors. The lower, smaller one controls the heater control valve in the engine bay and the drivers side air mix door. It wasnt working I guess so I think the heater control valve was stuck open and the drivers air mix door was stuck closed. I have the specs to test it so when I get a multimeter I will see if its within specs and let you all know how it turns out. For now I manually opened the mix door so I have heat on the drivers side again...

some pics, and/or an update would be GREAT!

i have been having the same issue, my passenger side doesnt get hot until it is turned up to about 87-80+. when this happened a few years ago i sprayed WD40 on the heater control valve in the engine bay and it worked for like 2 years. but now its not working again, and wd did NOT help this time.

i just fixed my issue recently. post here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/heat-control-still-not-working-910734/

greased the parts again with the OEM grease, not WD40. though you could try WD40 again. or change the cable, maybe that's clogged up.

TurboCoop, if you think back to 2013, did you have any luck finding a diagram or schematic of the HVAC system in a 2nd gen RL? I have looked all over, tried to find the thread you referred to also. I'm just not seeing it.

Last week i needed to turn on the heat. Well my driver's side isn't getting any heat and my wife got to enjoy a nice cozy heat climate on the passenger side. Did you ever figure out how to fix this?

I would start with running the hvac diagnostic. Start with that. Here's a link to the instructions:
