Angry HVAC issues

I recently had my compressor, drier etc... changed because the system was not cooling. The other night was chilly so to warm up the cabin I had to set the thermostat to max before heat would come through. The system felt different when the heat kicked in. So the next day sure nuff... the A/C does not cool....... like the Freon is low.
I don't have any obvious leaks(ports). The compressor does turn on and off when selected. I cleaned what I believe is a sensor at the driver knees. The fan blows at the correct selected speed. I have ran the test(recirc 5x) ... no message displayed.
This chump is stumped!!!!

Thanks for the direction. I've changed the valve then the thermostat. Temp still does not seem to work correctly. I am planning to have the coolant changed at honda tomorrow. The last coolant change was with the timing belt in 09. How can I determine if the heater coil in shot?

If you flip it back to "Low" does it get cool again? Basically you have "Hi" and "Low" and no in between?

That correct. I feel a little heat (but still cool)as I go through the 80's. The absolute heat only kicks in once I select hi .
I did have the coolant changed and the tech recommend a new radiator cap. So going in order of simple to complex, I assume the
heater core is my next focus?

That is how my '05 is behaving. Cold as can be when on "Lo" and hot as can be on "Hi", but pretty much sticks when in between. I am guessing one of the damper/mixer doors is sticking.....I am just too lazy to take things apart to investigate.

I will have to read up on the damper door. I considering changing out the heater core. I just want to check with TL community as to what I should look for......maybe it will be the damper door. I will keep you informed of my actions.

My assumption is if it still gets "HOT" and it doesn't smell, it probably isn't the heater core. I would look at the HCV and the damper/mixer doors for smooth movements. There have been a few threads in the past year on each of these with good walk throughs on how to test and repair. Someone had posted details of exactly how to take apart the mixer/damper motors and gearboxes, clean them, and lube them back up properly. Same for the HCV on where to look for smooth movement and what to clean/lube.

I will seek out the damper walk thru. I did the HCV. Hardest part was detaching the heater hose from said parts.
