Husky floor mats interfering with the gas pedal

Well, guys, I just bought an 05 Acura and ordered Husky all weather (really winter) mats. They look great except for one little problem--the mats interfere with the gas pedal.

What is the right thing to do? I was expecting to lay them below the pedal the same way that I can do with the brake except the gas is connected to the floor. Obviously I don't want to interfere with the pedal. So I can cut the mat around it. Considering the weather, I know that a lot of salt will accumulate there for sure so that's not ideal.

What else can I do? Ideas?

Thanks,
Ata

$100. The reason I went with the Husky mats is my normal mats look like crap after a season of winter use. I thought the rubber mats would be easy to keep clean in the winter.

Are you saying that it's economical to just replace the OEM mats over the years as they get dirty?

Thanks,
Ata

Return them and get me the Acura all weather mats for about the same price. The Acura mats fit perfectly. Be sure to remove any other mats when you put in the all weather ones. Only one set of mats in the car at a time please.

I just received the OEM all season mats yesterday and love them. Got them for $105 from Curryacuraparts.com, free shipping. 3 of the 4 have holes in them to allow them to be secured to the floor and not slide around. They also stop at the gas pedal so no need for cutting.
