HUGE paint chip in hood

Has anyone experienced any paint chipping problems?

I have an 06 TL NBP and just the other day i noticed a HUGE paint chip on the hood. I can understand paint chips in the front bumper on on the front of the hood around the grill - they take the brunt of road debris, but this is all the way up near the windshield on the passenger side. It is about the size of a small marble. It also chipped all the way down to metal - took the primer off with it and it is starting to surface rust ALREADY!!

I can handle a small ding/dent - it just comes with driving. But it doesn't look like the hood got dented at all - just chipped of the paint right off.

What do people think my chances are of getting Acura to fix this AND fix it right... Could this be a defect in the painting process... I think that would be my only viable argument...

Any ideas on the best way to fix? The chip is too big for just touchup paint.

BTW - how do I get permission to post pics?? I can take a quick pic and post it. Right now I can't post attachments.

You can probably get away with having a body shop air brush it, but it'll never be quite the same .. you'd have to repaint the entire hood for the flawless finish.

I know how you feel, I washed my car Saturday and what do I find...A big place on the front bumper that is black...looks like a bug...come to find out...something flew up and peeled the paint up in a place. It looks like someone ran their fingernail over sticky paint. My car only has about 900 miles. I have no idea how to fix it because it's all the way down to the black plastic and I'm not very good with touch up paint!
