How to resolve minor 'cosmetic' issues with CPO TL -S
Minor stuff as I absolutely love the car.
1. Brembo calipers look real worn. I think I figured this out by taking a cloth and rubbing off the years of caked on brake dust so it returns to its gloss black.
2. Chrome strip above license plate looks like its faded, worn, tarnished but not peeling. Simple chrome cleaner will do?
3. Dirt under rear side marker. Seems simple, remove side marker and wipe.

Its a used car and they did a "quickie" clean up. Pretty typical for a dealer and nothing to fuss about. Just kindly demand them to clean it better. The caliper appearance is normal, the Brembo paint will wear and degrade over time, I've seen many way worse then that.

The dirt behind the sidemarkers and the dust covering the calipers is nothing else but pure laziness.

Should any cosmetic issue be fixed for a CPO? I got mine as CPO and it had a decent seized scratch on the front bumper and scratches on the back bumper that I didn't say anything to the dealer about because I figured it was a used car in Brooklyn (hard to avoid and hard to find one without scratches). I will feel stupid if I could have forced them to repaint my front bumper! Especially because the scratch in front is an eye sore and the only blemish on the car (the scratches on the back we covered up by the aspec back lip)

lets think about what CPO means. Certified Pre Owned.
basically, a pre owned car that they slap the word 'certified' in front of to make it look like a unicorn galloping in the car lot. a used car is a used car, plain and simple. certified just means that it meets or exceeds their standards. some places have lower standards than others.
OP, your car looks fine. all that stuff is so minor. enjoy your TL.

Dealer tried to sell me a TL-S that was CPO... it was involved in a front end collision where the airbag deployed. CPO to me just means that the dealer officially acknowledges it was pre-owned and reconditioned it and slap a "Certified" on there despite whatever hell previous life it might have been through.
You'd think CPO would mean it would pass stringent tests and be as close as a used car could be to "new" condition without much reconditioning needed... that would make it be worth the extra premium they try to charge. just my .

1. Took front wheels off and wiped hard with cloth. Brembo covers are 'back in black'
2. Took my thumb and rubbed off all the 'dirt & grime' off the chrome strip but now I got thumb-burn. Had to rub insanely hard to rub off all those years of grime buildup.
3. Thanks to acurazine DIY, took rear lining off and popped side marker to clean under it.
All above concerns have been addressed....by me!

Not sure if its the same but when I was looking dlr told me cpo would add up to 3000.00 to the price depending on what they do to it. It could be as simple as washing or as much as detailing replacing the brakes and tires ect ect. He made me feel that if its a cpo certified car it had to meet many qualifications to get the certification.

you can save the chrome strip, I used chrome polish then put a sealant on top and mine looks brand new....same goes for the front grill. Also makes cleaning much easier in the future
and mine looked JUST like yours....
