how to put on light bulbs in the licence plate

ok . today i remove the light bulb for the licence plate on my 04 tl . all i did was just use a flat head screw driver and pull the plastic cover pff it and it came out perfect.now i just cant seem to put it back in it seems like theres is no room to put it in.. can someone plz help me....

If you are accessing through the trunk, as shown in the Service Manual scans and you cannot get the bulb back in, the light bulb is probably too long.
