How to protect steering wheel

I drive an 08 tl type s and love the look of the steering wheel. It is slighltly starting to wear on the top of the wheel where i grip it constantly when i drive. Anyone have a fix for this. Like a clear coat or something to put over or on the wheel just on the top half.
I do not and will not put an ugly steering wheel cover on it. I want to keep the stock look because i love the plain wheel. Anyone got input. PLEASE HELP

You gotta quit driving with your kung-fu grip.

just be sure to keep on cleaning it and conditioning it with some leather products. I've found that the TL's steering wheel holds up really well, but the oils from our hands tend to gum up heavily on the TL's wheel for some reason and make it look bad!

Clean it often. Most people hardly ever clean their steering wheel. Did you know that a steering wheel is more dirty than a toilet seat? Yup. Your hands are always on it and it hardly ever gets clean. It takes less than a minute to thoroughly clean the steering wheel.
