How to help keep the tl cooler?

Hey guys with the weather being as toasty as it is, has anyone found and used a good quality thermostat that opens at a lower temp than the factory 77.C? If so what brand name/part # was it and did seem to help? Was there any issues to note when running a lower temp thermo?

Just an FYI, try at your own risk!

Your 3G 2008 TL-S has the OEM 19301-P8E-A10; Thermostat Assembly (Nippon Thermostat).

This same thermostat also fits the 2G 2003 CL-S.

Back in the day people that installed the S/C'er kit, like myself, used the pricey Mugen thermostat 19301-XGER-0000 to have it open at a lower temp.

Mugen Thermostat 19301-XGER-0000 - King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc.

The Helms states OEM opening temp is 169-176F & fully open at 194F.
IIRC'ly, the mugen opens at 68 C = 154 F.

If you wish to learn more, before pulling the trigger, populate the search function using 'mugen thermostat'.

Nothing wrong with oem just with 40 degree celsius weather I wondered if their is a way to help keep the j35a8 running a bit cooler throughout the summer. Just got the car and I'm unsure if it has an actual oem one so I thought about changing it as preventative maintenance and that's why I wondered if a slightly cooler thermo would help. Does anyone actually run a cooler version in their TLs?

Which one do you have in mind?

If there was an active member that had a 'cooler version', they most likely would have answered you by now.
Here's your chance to be the pioneer with your 3G TL.

It seems like anything other than oem are not reliable for the tl as far as I've seen. I won't even risk putting a gates or duralast brand in. If acura/honda or nissin had a lower temp one I would consider it but since they don't I'll probly be putting a new oem one in just as preventative maintenance. Thought I'd ask guys and since Noone has chimed in I guess the answer is to stick with oem. Preciate the advice folks.
