How to force headlight condensation?

OK..so the dealer was nice enough to replace BOTH my headlights due to condensation with brand new ones (of course)..and wow do they ever look good and crystal clear.

So my question is..it's been 4 days now and there hasn't been any condensation at all...i've left it in the rain..the pouring rain...from cold to warm..but only thing i haven't done is put it through a high pressure car wash (well.. cuz its been raining lol).

So..i just want to confirm that the replacements have fixed this issue so what can I do to put it through the ultimate test?

take a piss on em

honestly what are you trying to do ? if the dealer replaces/rebuilts your tranny will you post a thread saying "what do i do to make sure they fixed it ? should i drive around without any fluid it in ?"

if you left it in the rain and took it for a spin in the rain and you dont see condensation then the dealer did good....leave it at that....you can take it in a car wash but please dont do anything funny to prove someone wrong....

PS: what dealer was it....sounds like a great dealership....

heh, on my last 07 TL the dealer did the same but they had the same issue and i didnt bother with it afterwards.. i think this dealer (different from last) may have done something different (i.e. paid more attention?) and installed them properly?! but yah..lets face it..the whole headlight condensation looks horrible on such a nice car so just wanna be sure i guess.

Wait until a hot summer day and then check in the morning after you wash your car...if you don't have any condensation, you're good.

lol yeah...that's the only way I can think of. The cold weather is going to hinder the condensation build up unless it's really bad.

well..the nice thing about this 08 ASM i picked up is that :

1. 4yr/80000km bumper/bumper warranty extended to 5yr/100000km
expiration: Oct 2013 (or if i hit 100000km)

2. 5yr/100000km powertrain warranty extended to 7yr/160000km
expiration: Oct 2015 (or if i hit 160000km)

currently at 51000km...i'm covered for a few years...as this was a 'certified' car...and the local dealerships have been taking great strides in retaining customers by offering top-notch service.

I would just enjoy the fact that you have new headlights and stop worrying about it. It really doesn't make sense to try to make them leak.
