Hey. So it could be a couple of things. Your drain plug could be leaking (would just need to be tightened with a 3/8's ratchet.) Tranny line could be leaking also that goes from the Tranny. You would have to see where it's coming from.

thanks for the reply. I don't have the ramp to lift the car and check where the leak is coming from. if I take it to independent mechanic what do you think the cost of repair will be?

depends on what is leaking. If the case is cracked, that's going to be almost a new transmission because it's difficult to replace only the case. It's very rare that sort of thing happens.

More common places:

1. Transmission drain plug
2. Transmission banjo joints (joint that allows fluid to go though screws)

If you simply look down from where the battery in the car is, you'll see the transmission. Look for greasy/black spots or bright red spots as transmission fluid is pinkish red.

Also be sure to check the level of fluid in your car and to add more as needed. Use ONLY HONDA DW1 FLUID!!!

I experienced a cracked trans case in my accord.
Instead of replacing I bought some Mighty Putty and put that on. It stopped the leak but a 1 later or so a red light runner decided it was time to put my car to rest.

Ironically, the mighty putty was still there and not leaking.
So,.......depending what the problem is and the cost to fix. This might work.

Be careful tightening the drain plug though. Torque it down to spec, no more.

If it is the front seal, it will have to come out to replace it.

thanks for the reply. I checked the fluid level and it's still good. I took few pix with a selfie stick but I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

could be leaking at the axle seals also. may want to try to clean all that gunk off the case so you can try to narrow down where its coming from. could even be fluid on the outside from spilled oil or atf when refilling. any stains on the driveway?
