Hot intake air
Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I was hoping for some advise. I have an 08 Acura tl. It has been good to me till about a month ago where randomly it would start to lose power and the fans would overwork. I have been to a number of me Janice but everytime the car drives great. I got myself an elm scanner with the android torque app and started looking at number. What I noticed was that when this problem arises, the intake air temperature goes to 77 degrees celcius with the motor being at 96 deg c. When the car drives fine, these numbers are 35-40 for the intake temp and 80 for the motor. Could someone suggest where this heat is coming from? Thanks in advance.

Internal combustion engines are not terribly efficient, and generate a lot of waste heat. This should not be a surprise. At idle things are worst. You're not moving, but still burning fuel.
I don't know what you mean by the fans 'overwork', since the car does not even turn the fans on until the coolant temp hits about 96ēC like you said. That's normal. You can lower this with FlashPro.
Your IATs are definitely a bit on the high side, but if you have very high ambient temps and idle, its going to creep towards the engines coolant temp. This will decrease performance, but it was how the car is designed. Nothing is wrong with your car. Only way around it is to avoid stopping when the car is up to temp, or modify the car to run cooler intake temps. If you slow down or stop, the intake manifold is going to heat up, and performance will drop once the temps get high.
If you have the A/C on it will cause the fans to run, and you can typically expect lower WT and IAT's. You can remove insulation, engine covers, block off the throttle body coolant, put thermal spacers on the IM, or even start hacking away to increase airflow under the hood.
