High revving- no accelerating your breath
Hello bretheren and thanks for your time,
Just today, I noticed that I cannot go into 4th gear. Well it goes into 4th gear but it just starts revving hard and no acceleration.
This is in automatic mode and tiptronic mode. There is no leaking of fluid in the bottom front, radiator is working, tranny seems to be working too. It is -15C (5F) outside, but this has never been a problem in the past.
Have any if you experienced this? What could be the problems and/or fixes?
I will check the tranny fluid but I had a B service a couple of weeks ago so it should be fine. this sucks..

Sounds like the transmission is slipping. Hope it's just really low on fluid, but thats not a great sign.
Typically this is about as bad of a sign as you can get that the thing is close to failure. It might go away if it warms up, but it still should not happen. Quite a few things can cause it, all of them mean you need a trans rebuild, so it makes little difference.
How many km do you have on it?

Honda puts in rebuilt replacements. I believe you can get a NEW replacement, but it's silly expensive.
Rebuilding is totally fine, so long as the rebuilder is experienced enough. It probably helps if the rebuilder worked on that type of trans before. The issue is lots of people use the term 'rebuild' loosely.
Personally, I would find a place that claims to have done some Honda V6 AT before, and offers a good warranty. I know some guys on here talk of some sort of mysterious dealer replacement for cheap, but I don't know how that deal works, if it applies to your vehicle, and if its good in Canada.

That's not a lot of km to have a failure, but I guess anything's possible. You can try replacing your 3rd and 4th pressure switches in the transmission first to see if that will make a difference. By the time you notice a problem, it's sometimes too late to do preventative measures. As ZOMGVTEK said, it may be close to failure.
