HID's Flickering.
So I noticed while taking modern to hard turns, the front HID's flicker as in: On and off extremely fast. It doesnt do it over like every bump. It did it the other day and I thought nothing of it, though I've noticed it a lot more. I dont want my HID's to blow or anything. Anyone ever have a problem quite like this? Loose wires? Corrosion? What's everyone's thoughts?
ALSO: I've been hearing this slight knocking sound coming in through the steering wheel. It ONLY flickers really when I hear this slight knock. this knock I have been thinking was my suspension. I got 107K on the ORIGINAL suspension. I plan to get it all replaced in the coming next two weeks. So this may have something to do with it. The knock sounds like the bushings or something going bad. Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
Another thing to take note of is, my battery is SHOT. I mean as in, wont keep charge if you leave the light on or the radio more than 10 minutes. This may be because of this as well?

it might be alternator/battery problem. I'd probably try to check that at autozone or pepboys to see if your electrical system is okay. The clicking might be coming from the ballast trying to fire up the HID.
I had flickering, minus your knocking sound...It turned out my bulb was on its way out! Changed the bulb and it was fixed! I know this isn't much help for you but others who may see this thread experiencing the same problem, this could be an alternate answer to the problem. Good luck (Y) P.S. prior to me changing the bulb, i did end up check all my connections making sure they were secure!
If an inverter/ignigter are going out, wouldn't it not come on or come on intermitently?
As far as a bulb going out wouldn't it flicker?
Bulb=flickers
Igniter/inverter=either it works or it doesnt.

Thanks for the input everyone. Both lights flicker. Or depending on the turn I take then just one. If I took a left turn the right one would flicker. My HIDs are brand new still. I replaced them not much over 3 months ago. They look and function perfectly just they flicker on hard turning or minimal turning with the wheel locked left or right. I am clueless besides thinking it's the battery. Because my LED license plate lights flicker too sometimes. So I am thinking just get a new battery and go from there; seeing if it still does it.. I will update what happens pretty soon.

So here's a small small update. The battery is NOT the problem. I am guessing the ignitors since it's doing it now on start up. They don't flicker now because of just bumps and hard turns, they are beginning to do this at will. BOTH HID's flicker. At different times though. The other night one started flickering on the right and just went out. I turned the lights on, then off. They came back on no problem. I have no idea what to think of this problem. It doesn't effect anything like the fog lights or side markers; just the HID. Could it be possibly my alternator? I doubt it. But in this case, I have no idea what the problem is besides new igniters or ballast's. Maybe I will post a video up at some point so you can all decide what you think. Because my friend and I who have been working on this car for a while now are stumped. Any new information is welcomed. Thanks.
So far possible issues are:
Alternator with 109K.
Ballast failure.
Igniter failure.

Check for rust/corrosion at the connection points. I had a similar issue until it became constant, and then eventually one side just failed. was rolling on one side of headlight and then had to have my HID fogs on the whole time to keep from getting pulled over and being able to see. Got new bulbs (change in pairs) and then cleaned up the corrosion. this was over 6 months ago, still doing well!
FYI I did change out the ignitor/ballast unit prior to discovering what the main issue was

bad igniter/inverter= works intermittently
see if you can borrow bulbs from a fellow acura owner, that way you wont shell out extra dough for parts you dont need.

Maybe the 4300 to 5000K caused the ballasts to fail or burn out possibly. I will check the wires and swap in my other HID's and get back to you on an update soon!

I've had the issue on an audi...one headlight was flickering... sometimes it would go out and the car would tell me "dipped headlight." I changed the bulb, and it works fine now. The flickering got worse with acceleration. I wish I changed both at once, now a few months later the other side is starting to flicker.

So here's a further update. Did the work, took out the lights, replaced them with the stock OEM ones I had still working and tried them out. So now the flickering is 100% gone. We took the same turns where usually it would flicker. We believe and I asked an Acura service man, that it's the ballasts. They both flickered when we would knock or tap on the control unite box. So I guess it is the ballast. But we're gonna have to replace them first to find out! But this is good, now at least I get an idea why they did do it. I'll update soon when I get the control units.
I have the same problem but in stages. Over the summer I would hear a loud pop sound when accelerating from the front drivers wheel well. After changing my spark plugs the lights would flicker during hard acceleration but not all the time. I re-secured the foglight control box and seemed to be fixed. Now the low beams flicker over a bump or accelerating but not bad enough to reproduce. How can it be ballast if both flicker once at the same time or does it only look like they both do?
