hid reverse melted my rear plate garnish

hid reverse melted my rear plate garnish

like and idiot today i was working on my buddys car when our spot light when out so i used my HID reverse as lighting and the idiot that i am i left them on too long and it melted my rear plate garnish...is this easy to swap out and change?

It's not hard to replace, I have had mine out a bunch of times for some custom projects. If memory serves me correctly, remove the license plate (because the two top bolts go through it to the trunk itself), the remove the bottom half of the trunk interior carpet stuff, and there are 4(?) 8mm nuts. Then after that, it's just a bunch of white clips.

On a side note, for others with this install, could you let us know how long you left them on for this damage to occur? It would be nice for the rest of us to know, so we don't do it too

Forgot to add, this part isn't cheap! I think when I priced out one, at my cost, from work, it was still over $250? In a rush and can't check regular cost online, sorry!

Loosen trunk liner. 4 8mm bolts hold the plate garnish on. Don't forget to take your tag off first.

damn, that sucks man. Hopefully you can find a cheaper replacement online than the $250 dealer part

damn 250 is a lot for that part ... im sure u can find one for significantly cheaper at a junkyard though

sounds good...i had them on for about 20-30 mins

yeah...my car came stock with hid reverse...yours didnt thats odd
