Hid question/issue

I put in 8000k hids in last night and all was great they both came on, looked great drove around checking them out. When i went to work I turned them on and just the driver came on, turned them off and back on both came on. Came out from work I couldn't get the pass side on for nothing. I switched back to stock bulb still nothing. Wtf? then without messing with the driver side at all it, it went out now neither come on? Did my ballast go out? Anyone had this problem?

Check all your connections as said. The igniter to the bulbs and the igniter to the ballast. You could've blown a ballast becuase of all the turn on and off repeatedly.

Ok went back and checked everything. so now they both come on, but its like it has to charge up before it comes on again. So I'm thinking better ballast are in order. But then again how often do you turn them on repeatedly.

Did you extend any wires on your own? And where did you ground? Your problem is not enough juice or current flowing through to get them both started. Are you using a relay harness? If so what gauge wiring is the power wire?

I put 6000k in to replace my oem lights last night and they were flickering on me also. And my driver side all of a sudden turned off. So I don't know if I have a bad connection but to bad I have to uninstall everything just to get to the bulbs. So I guess i'll have to tackle the tomorrow and see what the problem is.

I've always followed the rule:
-If you turn on your HIDs, leave em on for at least 5 minutes before turning em off.
-If you turn your HIDs off (presumably after leaving them on for 5 minutes), wait at least 5 minutes before turning them back on again.

My ebay HIDs in my old integra were still working after 2+ years following this. I do the same in my TL. If you dont plan to have them on for at least 5 minutes dont bother turning em on. I always lol when i see people on youtube flicking their HIDs on and off in rapid succession.

I didn't extend any wires. I didn't put an extra ground. all I did was change bulbs. I went back and moved the two wires from the ballast connector so they didn't touch but that was about it. Like I said they aren't perfect they come one but if you turn them off they won't come on for a couple min. Oh and yeah I'm talking about the headlights.

I have the same issue with mines I replaced the factory bulbs with aftermarket 6000k's. My buddy had same issue with his mazda 6. We believe it has to do with the after market bulb and factory ballast. My next step is to replace the balast

Sorry I understood this thread totally. I thought you added an aftermarket HID kit.

Ne wayz try to isolate the problem and see which bulb/side doesnt turn on. And then switch the bulbs to the other side and see if the problem follows the bulbs or if it remains on the same side. This will allow you to determine if its the ballast or bulb.

Any resolution? Last night my driver's side HID would not come on unless I turned headlights on/off/on, sometimes once, sometimes 2-3 times.
