Help! Windshield Wipers Not Working?
Help! Windshield Wipers Not Working?
Yesterday it was raining all day and I was at work. Then when I went to turn on the wipers it did not budge. The recalled kit was installed on it about 6 months ago which prevented the motor supposively from malfunctioning. Do you guys think that the recall will still cover this or are they going to charge me an arm and a leg to get it fixed?
have you checked the fuse to make sure it isnt blown??? If the fuse is fine they should cover the issue if its one of the parts they replaced..... especially if it was done only 6 months ago. BUT dont let them bs you.... some dealerships are good, some are bad, some are horrible. ive had my fair share of all three
It's possible there was already damage done before the recall took effect; it's basically just a snorkle so the thing can get air but not get water in it.. damage might have already been done and its just a matter of time
Anyone got a pic of this "recall" repair?? I got another note in the mail the other day reminding me about this. Said to take it to the dealer and plan to leave it for 1/2 a day. I got no time for that crap. I work for a living and refuse to leave my car with the yay-hoos at the stealership for ANY amount of time. So how hard is it to install the parts and what are they installing?? Part #'s and pics??
there are 2 recalls for many gen3- one for power steering hose that can break at fitting and spray fluid on the exhaust- possible fire !
takes about 1.5 hours to do and some time for the car to cool before working on it
the other was the wiper motor prob- .5 of 1 hour repair
As said before- check fuse first- is blade stuck to glass from heat?
If not - take to dealer and speak with the SERVICE MANAGER, let them know if it had the recall done recently and now this problem
Acura dealers are not out to screw you out of warranty and will work with the acura warranty rep on getting it fixed if its a defect
Sometimes replacement parts are no better than what they replaced~
1999 ignition switch goes out 3 times per car on average, and acura covers it once
also everyone call to register for recall notices with acura 1-800-382-2238x5 gets a human
ask about any recalls or extended warranties for your car
Need VIN number for them

Fixed!!!!
Soooo....I went to the dealership yesterday with my papers from the factory recall 6 months ago and showed them that I barely drive my car since it has been sitting in the garage and I put 4000 miles on it since then. They pulled my car to the garage and said I would have to wait because they didn't have a loaner(which I think is BS), so I went to test drive some cars to get lunch anyways.
When I got back from lunch, it was another 30 minutes and they told me the motor went bad and we fixed it out of good will. Good will eh? I am just glad they fixed it.
Hopefully this helps someone out who gets a bad windshield wiper motor.
