Help with trunk release and clock adjusting

Hello, I'm new to the board. Thanks for any help

I have 2 problems with my 2004 TL.

1) My interior trunk release button doesn't work. My key trunk release still works though. I've tried the trunk lock in my glove compartment and it didn't fix it. I'm not under warranty anymore, so does anyone know how much this might cost me to fix it?

2) I can't adjust my clock. I have the built-in navigation system in my car (where is where I adjust the clock). It is supposed to automatically detect my timezone and adjust accordingly. It's correct on the clock settings screen of the GPS, but it doesn't show up correctly on the long screen at the top. I've even tried the manual setup (+/- hours, +/- minutes, etc...). Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I also just remembered:

My TL gets these shakes whenever I'm accelerating (especially with a heavier load in my car). It's an automatic, but I think that it gets the worst shakes when it sounds like its trying to shift to 2nd gear from 1st. If I give it a little more gas or a little less gas, the shaking stops.

Are you sure the glovebox switch is set to unlock? You do understand that the glovebox switch only enables or disables the trunk push button switch on the driver's side? It doesn't open or close the trunk.

Yup, I realize and tried that.

Well, you can check fuse #8 in the under dash fuse box (20A). Since it appears you have power to the trunk lid opener solenoid (the keyfob works), I doubt that is it.

Next, I'd check the wires at the glovebox switch and the push button switch for power. Power runs from fuse #8 to the glovebox switch and then to the push button switch and then to the solenoid. Be sure you have the glove box switch set to "on" when you do this.

If you have power at both switches, then I'd say you have a bad push button switch.

Did you ever square away the issue with the clock? I've having the same issue - adjusting the clock in the nav setup screen has no effect on the clock displayed at the top. The only thing I can think of is I upgraded recently to the 3.A0 nav CD and it took away this functionality.

Found the fix of the issue in another thread (at least for my specific case - hopefully should resolve yours as well). Do the following:

- Go into the diagnostic mode (Hold Map/Guide, Menu and Cancel at the same time).
- Select Functional Setup, and then H/U Time Send.
- Make sure you’ve selected ON, then touch the Set button. You may need to keep doing this last action until the H/U time send completes.

What key trunk release? The only two that I know of are the button under the dash and one on the bottom of the package tray in the trunk. If you flip down the arm rest in the back seat and open the door going into the trunk there is a manual trunk release on the roof of the trunk where the back speakers are. There should actualy be another release on the inside of the trunk lid itself.
