Help Troubleshooting Driver's Headlights

I notice from the reflection in a store window last night that my drivers headlight is out. [Sidebar: what makes the HID come on? I don't think that is lighting on either side]

So on the driver's side is dark. when I use the switch on the stalk; nothing. When I filp the stalk away, the high beam doesn't come on either. On the passenger side, the low beam and the high beam work.

It looks kinda hairy on your tube to get to the bulbs (remove the battery, right?). I think if I take it to the dealer or a shop, it would be easy for them to say that both the hi/low buld, the HID and the ignitor are all bad. I am wondering if I can narrow down or isolate the problem before I go in.

A troubleshooting procedure would be greatly appreciated.

The low/high beam is the same bulb, so that would make sense.

You've got a burnt out bulb, bruh

My passenger side headlight went south a year ago and it turned out to be the ignitor. Due to the age of the car, I went and replaced the bulbs anyway since they tend to dim over time as mine did. The only way to troubleshoot is by replacing one component at a time. What really sucks is that you have to remove the front bumper in order to do this. A stealership will likely sell you a bulb AND an ignitor.

Few repairs on these cars come cheap, and unfortunately, headlight replacement is one of them as you're about to find out.
