All the manuals and DIYs on the site show how to remove the entire rear seat which involves undoing this bolt, that bolt, etc. Only part I'm concerned with is the portion you actually sit your butt on. I've found the tab underneath the front of the seat and have tried pulling, pushing, and twisting the thing but it won't bulge. I'm just trying to prop the seat up high enough to get to the channel that leads underneath the car for some undercarriage lighting, then snap it right back into place. Do I have to go through the entire process of removing the rear just to gain access or is that tab just a PITA to shake loose.

u dont need to do anything to the tab, just use brute force and pull the seat up. dont hurt urself though

it helps if u just pull up from right where the tabs are

when you feel the plastic tabs under the seat cushion pull them towards you, the same direction as towards the front of the car. if you want to get access to the area underneath the butt cushion you probably have to remove the cushion that you rest your back on too. the butt and back cushions have screw holders that screw into and use the same holes so they overlap each other. you might be able to do it without removing the back cushion but you'd have to know what you're doing. after you've removed the seats once the second time will go really fast.

i tried everything and could not get the driver side latch to come undone, the passenger side was simple. I ended up just pulling the seat up enough to get the seat back out. overall, it was a HUGE PITA because i couldnt get the seat bottom out. I ended up only putting back in like 3 of the 5 screws, didnt see why they were really needed anyway! lol
