Help with rattle behind Navigation

I have had several rattles with my 2004 TL some of which I have tried fixing myself and others that the dealer has tried to fix. One particularly annoying rattle seems to be coming from behind the navigation screen or cd player. Everytime I accelerate hard from a stop I hear a kind of squshing noise in that area. I also hear a noise over bumps that sounds like static that I think is resulting from the plastic rubbing against metal or other plastic parts.

Anyone have this rattle and have you had any luck eliminating it?

Welcome to the club. American Quality= TL rattles.

I had same rattles (from behind Navi screen).
Take top vents and Navi apart.
Find many places where you can apply tape or foam etc.
Put all parts back.
I strongly suggest you to find shop that can do this for you.
You can try yourself too, but I do not think that you have some tricky tools that shop does have.

Thanks for the reply. Did the felt/tape remove the rattles? What about asking the dealer to do this?

1. 90 % of rattles (from behind Navi) are gone.
2. I do not trust a dealer. I am in NY, so if I take it to the dealer that even if dealer will agree to do somethinq (very unlikly, by the way) that some unknown low paid worker will do this for you which means more rattles. You won't know what he did (you are not allowed behind gates).

3. When you take the car to shop and you pay than you stay behind worker and tell him what to do (where to apply tape, etc)

It is your property and nobody cares, but you.

Thanks. I'll try and take it to a shop like you said.
