help please

Hi I'm a TL owner. I know this is the TL section but I could not find the Acura Integra section but can someone transfer this topic to where it belongs thanks. Well my problem is passing emissions. I took my 1996 Acura Integra RS to get SMOG tested twice, first time I FAIL with bad O2 sensor and Evap Emission Control system pressure Sensor “code number P0453”, I fixed the O2 and reset the codes hoping I would pass the second time but I failed EVAP sensor again. Do I change the sensors or how would I go about fixing this problem???? PLEASE HELP and if sensor needs to be change; where is the sensor? I know where the Evap canister is located and the purge sensor. BUT couldn’t find the EVAP sensor. Some technician said I have to change the fuel pressure sensor and I told him this car does not have one. I believe they didn’t come out with a FPS until 1999 or 00 Integras but I might be wrong.

We don't have an Integra section. But perhaps someone can help you that knows Integra's.

RSX would be closest forum.. you should PM Stillhere.. I'm not sure of the pressure sensors location on the tank / fill neck but I'm sure it should be fairly easy to diagnose / replace.

A P0453 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
  • Open on FTP sensor signal wire
  • Short to voltage on FTP sensor signal wire
  • Bad FTP sensor
  • Abnormally high pressure in fuel tank due to blockage in EVAP purge hoses or overfilled tank
  • Loose/damaged FTP sensor connector
  • Loss of ground to the sensor

Thanks for not removing my post, but I have been reading and becoming confused about this sensor. Is the FTP and EVAP sensor the same sensor? I also have read that the 1996 RS Integra does not have a FTP sensor. Only 1996 GSR and UP and 1996 LS. But if there is any more information it would be nice thanks.
