HELP! Parking brake grinding after new rear brakes and rotors

Hello all. New to the forum here. These forums have great information so now Im hoping to get some help. I just replaced my rear brakes and rotors and had an issue with breaking a pin on the parking brake but that issue is fixed. After everything was finished, I took the car for a drive and found that I have a grinding noise in the rear of the car. Im assuming that its the parking brakes. Would anyone have any info on this or have an idea why Im getting the grinding noise? Should I replaced the parking brakes too?
Help is much appreciated!

I just read that after the rotors are removed that the parking brake shoes may need to be backed off (turned somehow) is this true? thanks

If it is the brake shoes, you'll need to find where they are contacting the rotor hat. Remove the caliper and spin the rotor to see if you can pinpoint the area. Make certain the tension pins on each shoe is in place and holding the shoe against the backing plate.

Also make certain the shield hasn't been bent and that is hitting the rotor.

Yes, the shoes need to be adjusted properly using the star wheel with access through the rotor.

Does anyone have a picture of how to turn the star wheel inside of the rear left rotor for the parking brake? Maybe a maintenance manual picture or something? I have read to put a slotted screwdriver in and turn but is there a slot inside of the star wheel? Which way do you turn?

on the face of the rear rotors, there will be a rubber plug.
take this rubber plug OFF.
if you peer inside, you will see a star spindle.
it might take a little looking around inside this little hole to find the star spindle but it is there
