Help! Lights on climate control and steering wheel not workig

I read a few things on this and it seems an issue for others as well. The light on my radio display work, but the bottoms for the climate control, and the volume and cruise buttons on the steering wheel do not.

I've read two different fixes. One being running a jump wire, and the other being the clock spring needing replaced.

Anyone have any insight into what they have done?

No, the bulbs are probably just burnt out-- it's very common.
There are a number of threads on replacing the bulbs.

I find it hard to believe all the bulbs went out at once. All climate and steering wheel control buttons are out.

Did you own the car when the lights were working?
If so, did they all go out at once, or in quick succession?

FYI, my TL's volume and channel bulbs burned out, but the cruise button lights still work. One of the two bulbs in the HFL control pod is out as well.
Those bulbs and the upper climate control bulbs all went bad within several months of each other.

I did not own it when it happened, but ALL the lights are out.

I guess I could try replacing just one and see if it works. I do not think this is the problem.

If it were a higher mileage car, I would agree, but it just turned 100k miles
