Help with headlight
every time i wash my TLs, i get a little bit if moisture in my passenger side headlight.it goes away couple of days later,but today the headlight completely went out. question is--bulb is bad or something else.please help.

i remember when my bulb exploded. not burn out but literally exploded. i first changed the bulb but it burnt out the same day. i then replaced the ignitor and that fixed the problem
the best advice i can give u is goto the dealer if its still under warranty. even the acura care extended warranty covers the ignitor and ballast which are pretty expensive. i bought a used one off ebay for like 80 bucks i think.
if your gonna try to troubleshoot the problem yourself, then i would buy some cheap hid bulbs off ebay first just incase your ignitor or ballast are the problem. u dont wanna keep popping those expensive phillips bulbs. u can buy genuine phillips bulbs off ebay as well. 80 or 90 for a pair.
first put in the cheap bulb and see if it burns out again. then try swapping the ignitor from one side to the other and see if that works. try the same thing with the ballast. only change one peice at a time and go from there. sounds like something may have gotten wet and caused a short or something.

how hard is it to replace the bulb. or ignitor or ballast. is the ignitor and ballast the same piece.
i had Halo put on. so i cant really take it back to the dealership because of the mod.
how hard is it to take out the bulb and put in the new one.

im pretty sure you need to take the bumper off to replace the ignitor and/or ballast. heres a DIY with a video to remove the bumper. its actually very easy. scared me the first time but just remove the clips/screws and it comes off with ease. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/diy-video-updated-removing-front-bumper-3g-garage-e-080-a-628363/
heres what they look like.
the silver box is the ballast and the wire with the small silver looking thing is the ignitor. everything just plugs into each other so its easy to take apart. the ignitor goes into the back of the bulb.

make sure not to touch the glass part of the new bulbs with your fingers. wear gloves. oils from your hands will destroy the bulb

IMO, if your gonna take the bumper off, you might as well replace both bulbs if you have a lot of miles or you have an 04/05. how many miles do you have and what year is your tl?
