HELP! Gas fueling problem. Unable to fill my car up wit gas.

Today when i was trying 2 fill up gas, I wasnt able to fill it up all the way. I had a half tank of gas only, and the pump kept stopping on me. I got into my car started it up, and checked the miles to empty. It said 238 miles, but that would be impossible. Could something be wrong wit my fuel sensor or any type of sensor? any help would be great. Thanks.

Well the pump would stop if it was full all the way. Your gauge might be stuck.

I would have thought that too, but I only spent around $25 on gas. Not enough for a full tank. Usually I pay roughly $40 something for a full tank, and gas prices has gone up around ny.

So unless you have an obstruction in your filler tube you have a full tank of gas and there is something up with the car.

Don't rule out a faulty gas pump .. they kick off based on back pressure and I have seen sensitive ones.

Pull the nozzle out an inch and keep going.

^ true, I've encountered quite a few malfunctioning pumps as well drive for a while and try a different pump. If you have the same problem still, then we can help you move forward to diagnosis it.
