Just got myself a code scanner because I purchased a vehicle with the CEL on. Yeah yeah, dumb idea, but it's a 2008 TL with 88k miles and I won it in an auction for $3900. These are the 2 codes the scanner gave me: P0141-"02 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2" and P0430-"Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2".

Does anyone have any experience with these? Could it be that i'm getting the catalytic converter code because of a bad 02 sensor? Or are they both bad because they're in different banks aka positions? I have an appt with a trusted mechanic in 2 weeks for inspection. Is it safe to drive until then? Any insight would be appreciated!

 

replace the O2 sensor first, its most likely its the sensor trigger both codes.
