i just recently purchases a used tl , ran great for 2 weeks smooth as can be, just yesterday as i was going home from work it slipped hard when i made a left turn wouldnt get past 20, would make a loud rev sound. so i pulled over and restarted the car. and drove it to the nearest street to park car got better and i was able to get to 40. long story short i had given up on the tranny and decided to drive it to the mechanic to rebuild, my friend ended up driving it there and him and the mechanic both said it was fine and i must be tripping. i took the car back drove it myself and was amazed. it was smooth and running again. today i drove it to work again and it was good only had one minor jerk at 40 i quickly pulled over put it in neutral and drove off again and was fine the whole day. i read alot of these forums im sorry to remake another . any help is GREAT . sorry ifthis post dosent give alot of info i well montitor and keep replying when questions are asked

 

Trans very well could be going, one last thing you can do and everyone else will say it too is, change the fluid and change the pressure switches and see what happens. Might fix it or might not. Either way start putting money aside for a new trans.

 

Changed the tranny fluid about 5 days ago doing the pressure switches tmr , I'm curious as to why my check engine light didn't go on

 

what year is your TL? 04-06 have "common" transmission issues

 

Change the trans filter.
CEL will only come on when the ECU detects a problem, but when a trans problem erupts that
is not electrical related, no CEL.

 

no problems at all today. changed the pressure switches, noticed it was alot better shiting , gonna try and do the trans filter as well tmr

 

Did you bump it into neutral by chance?

 

nope was smoking wth left hand steering with right lol. still no issues *knock on wood* but i am prepared to rebuild the tranny if anything arises
