Help!

All-

I have a 05 TL with navi, auto.

I have multiple problems, that the dealer cant seem to fix.

There is a shimmy in the steering wheel when accelerating, worse at 4500RPMs. It is a rocking back and forth about 1/2 an inch. They have replaced axels, power steering parts, and checked the wheels and tires, and swapped them out. One of the axels was bad, but the problem is even worse now it has been 500 miles since the repair. Seems to be worse coming out of a turn, and it even is happening under slow acceleration.

The rear view mirror vibrates all the time. It has been replaced.

The driver side mirror vibrates after they replaced the motor in it.

The driver recognition system disappears. And wont always say "driver one detected"

The car is hard to start, or starts and dies, and seems like its flooded. They blamed my gas, I bought premium, same thing.

It has been hot here, and yesterday, when I went to start the car, it turned over and acted like the battery was dead, or it went against itself and the dash lights dimmed out, then it started.

After the axel repair the transmission seems to clunk when going into reverse.

There are rattles in the passenger door trim they have tried to fix 8 times, still there.

The third brake light will intermittently work now, I have no idea why that would burn out, or go out and come back on, but a cop pulled me over.

I’m sorry, I know these are known problems, but I don’t really have any conclusions on repairs that I could find, and my next appointment is in a week, so I want to go in with some details.

I have had it with this car and all these issues, please someone tell me they have been fixed on their car and what was fixed.

Morgan

Sorry, but if the dealer has replaced half the parts on the car and hasn't found the problem, it's difficult to offer any additional advice over the 'net.

Sounds like you had better try another dealer.

Use search for a solution to the rattle.
The 3rd brake light is probably a loose wire somewhere if they have already replaced it.
The 'shimmy' might be a spark or fuel delivery problem that is causing an engine miss that you feel as a shimmy. That might also be the cause of the hard starting.
Mine didn't recognize 'driver 1' after an oil change.
I think that happens if you change the seat position and then get out without locking the door.
Try locking the doors, then using the fob.
