HELP!!! '04 headlights on '06

Sup all, Thanks in advanced for any help!!!

Long story short, got JnC 04 Clear headlight housing, 04 got wrecked, later obtained 06. Just tonight tried to put the lights on, and most would know the 06 ballast would not directly mount to the 04 housing. The screws holes on the 04 housing are different than the 06 ballast screw holes. So we decided FTW send 04 lights back and get 06 lights, and worst case get 04 ballast to mount to 04 lights. Issue we thought of, will the lights short out because the 04 and 06 ballast may have different wattage, haven't looked into this yet. Also we were considered taking the 04 housing out and exchanging with the 06 housing, but more than likely we would still have to bake the orange film off. Again i have not done any reseach yet, just brainstorming!

Any Ideas Are Welcomed!!!
Thanks in advanced again!!!

I've got nothing. But I did do my tail lights today and that was the biggest bitch in the whole wide world. Not relevant I know but, good luck in your endeavor.

04 and 06 ballasts do not have different wattage. it'll work. the only thing is the different size mounts, but electronically, it'll have no problems

I currently have an 04 ballast at home (my car is an 06). While I did not install the larger ballast, it appeared it was only wider, but not taller. Clearance wise, it should fit without issue. Keep in mind I don't think that anything changed at the front of the TL to allow a smaller ballast to fit. Since you won't be able to use the mounting holes, just secure the ballast with some sort of adhesive. It's not like you'll be ever taking it off, nor is it even remotely visible. I'm Pretty confident you'll be fine.

And like paper boy stated, the voltage should be the same, otherwise you'd notice a different headlight color between different TL years. I think they just slimmed down the design because technology improved and it was cost effective to do so. Beyond that it's all the same.

Also you'd have to have all different HID bulbs for every ballast for every different manufacturer. Input voltage on my 04 ballast is 13.5v and the output is 400v. Which, I believe is the same for all hid, except maybe d4s bulbs.
