HELP*6mt clutch horror
hello all great community here. i have been reading for a while first thread. Too bad its bad news, i was just told by dealer my clutch on my 06 tl is bad, worn completely he claims, iits got less that 6600 miles on it !?!?!?
he said it was going to cost me $2300
the thing did not give any type of warning that it was going to go bad, it just stopped working, i dont drive hard at all. anyone else had any issues or suggestions as to how to handle with dealer tomorrow?!?!?!

Search around. Others have had early clutch wear and some, not all, have had it covered by warranty. I think it all cases the warranty determination was made after everything was torn apart and it could be determined what was the cause.
6600 miles is extremely short wear assuming you drive the car properly. It is possible to burn up a clutch that fast if you really "try" but I'd say if you have experience diving an MT and you don't beat on your car then something is wrong inside.
My advice is to keep an open mind with the dealer and do not get heated with them. Remain cool. Be persistent and solid. Tell them that 6600MI is way to early and that you want the entire clutch system inspected for miss-assembly and/or broken parts. Unfortunately, your age will likely work against you. I'm not saying it's right but it isn't uncommon for dealers to "assume" things based on a car owners age.
Good look.
