Headliner on 3rd break light is bubbling. FIXES?

Headliner on 3rd break light is bubbling. FIXES?

The ceiling headliner in my back seat on the break light is bubbling. Suggestions on fixes? 2004 TL

Very common. Here was my fix:
  • Remove the cover (pulls off)
  • Carefully peel back fabric from the plastic.
  • Spray plastic with 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive (or equivalent). Light coat is all that is needed. Too think/wet and it will bleed through the fabric in the next step.
  • Reapply the fabric being careful to make it smooth.
  • Put back in the car
  • Enjoy.

recently bought a certified 05, didnt notice the fabric was hanging till i drove with the windows down and it was blowing around. brought to dealer to get fixed, they told me that the cars 3rd cover replacement. apparently its pretty common.

Yep it's garbage. happened on my '05 I just pulled the fabric off cleaned off the glue, painted it, and threw it back up. I wanted to get a carbon one made but decided to get rid of the car so this was my quick fix.

I am on my 3nd replacment for that... I did not even mess with trying to fix it. I just had the dealer do it for me.. I also have an 04
