so a few weeks ago when i took out my headlights to do some work on em, i had to unexpectedly move my car to let another car get by me in this garage shop.

so with the headlights off, i started the car and tried to put it in reverse, i got nothing. would not budge whatsoever. gears would not switch from park.

is this some sort of security/theft measure? anybody have any ideas why i was unable to put it in gear? just thought it was kinda odd but maybe there is a valid answer.

i was gonna pose this question the morning after i did the work, but i forgot until now.

 

what did you end up doing? putting back head lights then move car?

 

the guy was able to squeeze by, we had to move a different car and he took that route instead.
