Headlight Problem

I'm curious if anyone has had this problem. My drivers side headlight has a bright purple tint to it as opposed to the bright white that it should be. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

have the lights ever been replaced? If so, bulbs need to be replaced in pairs since HID"s colorshift after 100 or so hours of use. They turn bluer. The TL's HID's from the factory are pretty nice, take a photo of it and we can help you more.

I can always tell an Acura or sometimes a bimmer coming from the other direction by it's bluish headlights.

I like that purple-ish hue at the top of the beam. The rest of the light output is a nice bright white. A perfect combo, if I say so myself!

Here ya go

Here are the pictures. The side led marker went out the same day. If I have to replace the bulbs, I'll probably go with the 8500k.

Do you think the bulb is bad or could it be the weather?

Is your car still under warranty? If so take it back to the dealer. Your headlights should be covered under the warranty. That looks out of place.

Almost looks to me the bulb is at the end of it's life. How many hours are on the bulbs would you think? I'm sure new bulbs will fix the problem. I have an extra bulb you can have if you want to try that out.

If the ballast was bad, would the light still come on?

Hey Nate,
Thanks for the offer. I ordered 2 philips bulbs last night. These are balcked out and cleared headlights. I remember when I was installing them, I heard a loud click when I installed the bulb on the drivers side. That through off the allignment on the light. When I install the new bulb, I'll have to correct that problem.

Not a problem. I just have a few sets of bulbs laying around from my last retrofit. Did the new bulbs fix the problem?

The bulb is going bad, that's why it has that purpleish hue. Additionally, I wouldn't suggest going with a color temp over 6000k. Anything after that you're sacrificing light output/visibility for looks.

Function > Form

Here is a nice little HID color temp guide........

Yup, its the bulb, its gonna go soon. Color Shift like that is a warning, seen Benz's n beemers driving with one light like that, and I sometimes wonder if they even have any idea what is going on.....
