Headlight Going Out

Hey Guys,

Just the other night I was driving and I noticed that my passenger headlight was out. When I turned my headlights off and back on the passenger side came back on. After about 5 mins it will go back out. Any idea what it might be? A bad bulb, ballast/ignitor? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks!

Swap the passenger/driver bulbs and see if the problem follows the bulb or stays on the passenger side. If it stays on the passenger side you might have a bad ballast/ignitor.

Hey Kstrick,

Mine is turning purple, not out yet. The local dealership wants $242 to diagnose the problem as they have to remove the bumper to get to the problem. Oh and if it's the bulb, then it's $240 for 1 bulb. I've got extended warranty which may cover the ballast but I think mine is related to bulb and not ballast.

Heeltoe Automotive said they would change out the bulbs for $30, and they're in Mission Viejo. If you know of a local place in SD, let me know heh.
