Hazed Headlights

What a sure fire way to make our headlights look crystal clear and new. I black out my lights last night but the look like crap cause the lenses are oxidated. So I sanded em down with 2000grit and polished em but they still look hazy. What do you guys think?

when I was blacking out my friends lights his lights were hazy too, alot. So we went with some lower grit paper first, then something in the middle, then 2000 grit. They looked almost new when they were done.
Everyone on this site says that sanding them down is the worst thing that you can do because they will keep oxidizing faster and faster but I didn't notice anything on my buddys car and we did it before last winter.

Yea you need to polish it after you sand.

The smoked urethane sheet seals the surface of the light unit. Clear sheet will do the same. Unprotected repolished lenses haze up faster, but putting on a protective sheet of plastic keeps that from happening.

I've had experience with this.. I used some Dupli-Color Top Clear Coat on some headlights from which I removed the Nightshadez off of.. Then after letting it cure over night I just used some wax to polish it up and it looked perfecto! I wet sanded with some 2000 grit after removing the Nightshadez (before the Clear Coat)

After wet sanding with 2000 grit, would you polish before spraying the clear? Or will the sanding marks disappear after clear is applied?
