Getting dents fixed!

Hey,

I found a body shop that will fill the dents on the trunk lid and paint over the dented areas for $200.

The guy said that I can probably get away with just painting the dented areas opposed to painting the whole trunk.

SSM is REALLY hard to match, so I'm feeling nervous.

The car's going in the bodyshop on Tuesday.

Is there anything I should tell the body shop?

Yes, tell them you won't pay if it doesn't match and the repainted areas can be noticed, then see what their reply might be.

I think its actually easier, less expensive and better results to paint the entire panel rather than trying to blend many areas on one panel

imo i don't think it'll look right. places i've took my car too actually paint the whole trunk and part of the quarter panels on each side and blend it in. might not look right if they just paint the effected area.

If you only have dents and the paint is still OK...have you checked into Paintless dent Repair? I tried this for the first time and the results were amazing! (No paint required to match.

I already checked PDR but the 2 dents are really difficult to pop out. It's on the trunk lid's bodyline.

I will definitely ask the bodyshop how much it is to repaint the whole panel, even though the guy insists it will only be visible if you're looking for it.

My minivan is in their body shop right now.

Sliding door and rear panel getting painted (sister scraped it against eavesdrough). $400.

I can't wait to see the results.
If they did good with matching, I'm willing to let them paint the TL's trunk.
