Hello everyone,

First, before you respond I searched high and low on this post for this answer and can't find an answer.

I have a 2008 MRP Acura TL and this past Wednesday morning I couldn't get my car out of park..I called my local dealership and they told me how to use the shift release and if it happens again give them a call. Well the same morning I went to the gas station and still couldn't get my car out of park, but also couldn't get it out of reverse as I was leaving.

Long story short, they called me this morning stating it was not the brake light switch.
Does anyone know what can be wrong with my car? I purchased it last June and it was a CPO (38,000miles )so I still have the factory warranty.

 

I would check the transmission fluid & then check to see if you have any kind of leaking under the car. Not to wish this on you but hope its not the transmission.

 

Let them fix it under the 4-yr/50k warranty.


It's good to know what's causing it before they give you some song and dance. Hopefully others here will have some ideas.
